            We are at the front of the line at the entrance to Parrilla Peña ahead of the 7:30 PM opening.  By 7:45 all seats were in use.  The restaurant does not take reservations.

The kitchen staff is readying the grill and prepping the cuts of meat.

Peña at Rodríguez Peña 682 in San Nicolás neighbourhood has been a favourite since our first visit to BA in 2008.

Eating meat is ingrained in Argentinian culture, part of their national identity.  There is no better way to savour the best of what the land has to offer than grilling the best cuts of beef and lamb.

In Buenos Aires, there is a parrilla around nearly every street corner, so you’d be forgiven if you’re stumped in deciding which to patronise.

Peña does it well.  The ambience is simple, unpretentious, the cuts of meat delicious and the service excellent, all for a reasonable price.

Service starts with complimentary savoury beef empanadas and finishes with a good house made tiramisu.

Did I mention Peña is a favourite?
