            The official name of the temple is Rengeoin. Sanjusangendo is the name of the temple's most impressive building - 120 meters long maings it the longest wooden building in Japan.

Sanjusangendo can be literally translated "thirty three spaces between columns", a name that describes its architecture. The building dates back to 1164 but was rebuilt in the 13th century after the original burned. It's one of the best known buildings in Japan.
