Flying over a hurricane - a photo on Flickriver

            ⛈️✈️🚫Survoler l’œil du cyclone : une mauvaise idée en avion, mais ça nous arrive en station spatiale ! L'ouragan Ida se prépare à frapper les côtes du golfe du Mexique, et vu d’ici rien de réjouissant, notamment quand on regarde la hauteur des murs de nuage en son centre… Ces tempêtes, toujours plus fréquentes, font toujours plus de dégâts, et on pense à ceux qui la subiront en espérant qu’ils seront préparés et qu’ils resteront sains et saufs.

Something I haven’t done in a plane (for good reason): fly right over the eye of a storm. It’s worrying to see these weather phenomena becoming stronger and more frequent from our vantage point. Looking straight down the walls of hurricane Ida’s center is scary, and mother nature is stronger than we will ever be. I hope anyone in the path of this storm will be prepared and will stay safe.
