            We get to celebrate new year 16 times today as the International Space Station flies over Earth it takes 90 minutes to do a full orbit. That means that every 24 hours we circle Earth 16 times and pass over some part that is celebrating New Year. A normal day for us though... Saturday is cleaning day on the Space Station. A space sunset, seen from the side. Were you looking for a new desktop wallpaper? Sunsets from space are abrupt but beautiful. All the colours pass by from dark-blue to bright-red in just a few seconds. All my pictures can be downloaded in high-resolution on my Flickr page!

Comme la Station spatiale n’a besoin que de 90 minutes pour faire le tour de la Terre, on va en quelque sorte pouvoir célébrer 16 fois la nouvelle année aujourd’hui… ! En quelques minutes, on fera le grand écart entre des pays qui auront déjà un pied en 2017 et d’autres qui entameront à peine l’après-midi. Ça n’a rien de spécial pour nous et je me suis déjà habitué à ce rythme : aujourd’hui, c’est simplement le jour du ménage sur l’ISS, comme tous les samedis. Il paraît quand même qu'en faisant bien attention on pourra peut-être apercevoir des feux d’artifice par le hublot… On vous tient au courant ! Ci-dessous un coucher de soleil spatial vu de côté. J’en ferais bien mon fond d’écran de portable ! Depuis la Station spatiale, les couchers de soleil sont brusques mais splendides. En l’espace de quelques secondes, on voit défiler tout l’éventail des couleurs du bleu foncé au rouge éclatant. Toutes mes photos peuvent être téléchargées en haute résolution sur ma page Flickr !
