The 115-year-old Pacific National Bank has sat vacant for the last 20 years, changing hands and going nowhere... until now. The Tribune announced on Dec 1, 2006 that it's going to be renovated into two floors of retail and eight large apartments total from the upper four floors, similar to what it had been during much of the last century, ready by October 2007. [later] Renovation never started, and in October 2007 another article appeared in the paper saying that they bit off more than they could chew. *sigh*

[later still] They never could get their acts together, and the building was reduced to rubble in late 2009. Sorry, Burnham & Root, Tacoma has failed you again.
