Havana Street Panoramic - a photo on Flickriver

            Havana, Cuba - The street scene in front of me was beautifully simple. Afternoon clouds were rolling in, ready for a downpour and the sun was streaming through the clouds creating some gorgeous light on all these bright and cheerfully painted buildings, albeit painted some years ago. I'm across the street and I needed to fit all of this in, without using an extreme wide angle lens and just killing the perspective. Also the light was difficult with very bright skies and dark underneath the arches.
So this calls for a multi-shot panorama and HDR technique. Panning from one spot from across the road would result in some strange warping of the buildings due to parallax so I took my shots starting from the left and walking several meters and shooting straight on each time - handheld! Yes handheld - with people moving about I needed to be fast and a tripod would have been way to slow. End result is a 36 shot HDR and Panoramic composite! And a lot of time fixing up details with people walking between every shot and moving everywhere. Approx 15000 x 6000 pixels.
