Chasing the Sun, Blake Island - a photo on Flickriver

            Oh the adventures that photography provides...
The sun was drawing away from our little harbor on Blake Island, near Seattle as the day drew a close.  The harbor was in shadow. 
But I saw some sunlight just outside the harbor and hopped in the dinghy, which has an electric motor.  The motor isn't large but the water looked peaceful.  I slowly motored out of the harbor, chasing the sun around the corner of the island.  It was a challenge keeping a decent photo frame, mainly due to deceptively strong current.  At one time, the motor (which seems like it is a glorified blender motor) was in top speed, yet I was being carried by the current, away from the protected harbor.  And still I stubbornly made a few more shots.  Fortunately, I watched for a shallow spot that had to have a back eddy and used it to be able to get back to the harbor.  I finally made it back to the boat to find my wife working on an after dinner nap, blissfully unaware of the adventures of photography and blender powered watercraft.
