Ripping (2015-09-10)

            Elphinstone reef, at Marsa Alam, is famous for its great corals, but more so because of its strong currents that attract the Oceanic Whitetip shark (also called Longimanus).  We did have a Longimanus with us on this dive, but it did involve us moving away from the shelter of the reef and out into the ripping current.  Just staying on one spot required finning like crazy.  If you look at the bubble stream, it should be going straight up.

Equipment: Canon S100, Ikelite underwater housing.  ISO 80, f6.3, 1/20 sec

Post-production: B&W conversion and a bit of curve adjusting and masking
