Tibbets Point Lighthouse - a photo on Flickriver

Tibbet's Point Lighthouse in Cape Vincent, New York is a beacon near the mouth to the St. Lawrence River. The lighthouse helps ships safely navigate the tricky entrance to the St. Lawrence Seaway. The circular white tower stands 69 feet (21 meters) above the water and was built in 1854.

As I wait for Spring to arrive this weekend, I pulled out this photo from the archives. What this photo does not show was the high winds I encountered on this otherwise beautiful sunny day.
