Error message on power up. - a photo on Flickriver

Rick, for some reason, decided to download a new iOS on the OLD 2014 MacBook Air, to get 10.14.6 or something, beyond me!

...The computer went into a loop of rebooting and returning the error message..

the story of attempting to restore dead MacBook Air.

He has lost all the data, but still has the MacPro....

Kept rebooting to see Error message image..... see the approx order. of the images in the Album..

Phoned Apple and had 2 hours phone support with Control+command+R and hold power button for 7 seconds and a number of other key combinations to get some sort of Mac Home screen..

Got the old Catalina OS displayed then had to apply First Aid to the available 92Gb drive and Reinstall macOS Big Sur. (whatever that is)

Applied first aid to each Folder or Partition but did not have Permission to install Big Sur!!

We even managed to connect to my home Wi-Fi and try an install off the web. Amazing we got that far. The Mac Menu bar options and various Folders during the process of wandering around the setup process all worked.

My very patient and helpful support girl from Apple in the Philippines worked through every option to no avail.

Have to return this "Old" Mac to the Apple shop..
