Snow in Birmingham, Alabama - h - a photo on Flickriver

            This scene is a view outside one  of the SICU windows. In the last 30 minutes, or so, the snow has really started to fall with greater velocity & volume. By morning, it'll probably be melted because temperatures haven't been sustained below freezing, which would thus keep the snow from melting. Besides, the forecast calls for moderation of temperatures ABOVE freezing with precipitation in the form of rain, which would then melt snow. Plus, the increase in temperature would help melt snow. 

All in all, it's quite a fiasco for the Birmingham area, to be certain. 

Madison county to the north of the state has had snow yesterday & is probably snowing there even now. But, the difference is that Huntsville has prepared, while Birmingham has not.
