Autumn is here...

            Autumn is incredibly beautiful in Slovenia although the days I went down there, there was a persistent low pressure system (it cleared the day I got back home hah) which made landscape photography quite difficult. However, such weather is perfect for waterfall shots and there are lots of them as well. So I ended up walking a lot to many of those waterfalls. 

Jamnik is a settlement on the eastern slopes of the Jelovica Plateau in the Municipality of Kranj in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia.
The local church just outside the village, dedicated to Saints Primus and Felician, is built at an impressive location on a hill overlooking most of the northern part of the Ljubljana Basin with the Julian Alps as a backdrop towards the northwest and the Kamnik–Savinja Alps towards the east that adds so much depth to this beautiful location.

I got to the foothills of Jamnik village the previous night as the forecast was slightly more promising than the whole week I was in Slovenia. The next morning, I drove up to this church and there were about 8-10 photogs already set up. The morning was especially cold and the wind was sweeping the fog across the church as the sun was beginning to come up slowly but surely breaking through the fog. The light on the church was so beautiful and the fog kept revealing and hiding the different parts of the church and the alps behind. I have seen many different interpretations of this place photographed at various times of the day across different seasons and never once did I think I would get to portray this place in all its beauty by myself. So yeah some dreams do come true ;)
