Agélène à labyrinthe - Agelena labyrinthica

            L'Agélène est l'araignée dont la toile est la plus visible. Elle tisse dans la végétation basse une grande nappe surmontée de fils tendus dans tous les sens, tel un labyrinthe, et terminée par un entonnoir débouchant par une issue de secours. C'est dans ce tunnel que l'araignée se positionne à l'affût, qu'elle dévore ses proies ou qu'elle s'accouple. 
Les insectes qui passent à proximité se cognent dans ces nombreux fils obliques, ce qui les entraîne inexorablement vers la nappe. La soie n'est pas collante, et l'insecte pourrait théoriquement s'enfuir. Mais c'est sans compter sur la vélocité de l'Agélène qui fond sur sa proie pour lui injecter son venin.
Lors de cette séance photo, l'araignée, farouche, est restée dans son tunnel. On distingue autour d'elle, les restes de ses repas, probablement une élytre et une patte de criquet. En effet, elle jette ses déchets en dehors de l'entonnoir et se retrouvent pris dans la soie.
