The temp during the day was Officially “bloomin’ cold”

            After a first day’s walk about in the new town of Alta, mid day light was dusk, 7◦C falling to 17◦C at night. Walking around I had two pairs of trousers two pairs of socks three shirts a jumper and two coats. My camera batteries didn’t fair well in the cold with two failing immediately. Powering for GPS in the camera was too much. Under normal temps one battery will work all day, here it managed just over an hour. The next day I put my camera under my coat, it lasted around two hours. Spare batteries no longer in my outside pocket, but under a few layers.
The temperatures made the snow very dry and not slippery to walk on.
