Nothing Lasts Forever - a photo on Flickriver

            Unfortunately this photo was deleted from my flickr photo stream. So this is a repost. This image was on Explore on June 24th last month. oh well
Old Davenport Pier. This shot was taken north of Santa Cruz, CA. There was great potential last night for a magnificent sunset, but the billowy clouds turned thick before the sunset could illuminate the horizon. My friend, Birdo, and I decided to have some fun with my flashlight. We ended up getting stuck on this beach for about an hour due to high tide. It's a little funny that for so many years I used to surf this coast, but wasn't into photography. I didn't see the coast through  photographer's eyes, and now I see all these amazing images taken near, or at my old favorite surf spots. I am really looking forward to photographing this amazing coastline with a new set of eyes.
