Safeway Witchita,KS - a photo on Flickriver

            Former Safeway located at 3104 East Douglas Ave. in Wichita,KS.  The building is currently occupied by an ACE Hardware store.
Note Safeway opened this 21,000 square foot store on November 17th 1970.  The store closed on June 15th 1983 when a Safeway "Super Store" was constructed next to this building.
Note Safeway had a set of automatic doors over this extended canopy.  The outline of the "magic carpets" are still present in the concrete.
