We made it back from first overseas trip to celebrate our upcoming 25th wedding anniversary. Flying over 8,500 miles to the most remote inhabited island on earth in the South Pacific Ocean. 2,300 miles from South America flying over open ocean. It was a challenging trip for sure. A word of advice...learn to speak some Spanish.

The Travelling Moai got his nickname by first being moved to Osaka Japan for its World Fair in 1982 and returned. Then the 9 ton statue was used for experiments in 1986 by Thor Heyerdahl and Pavel Pavel to see if the oral tradition could be true that the moai "walked" to their locations all over the island. It worked. Later in 2012 it was proven again that they could be walked about a half a mile a day.
