Neighborly bail

            Whoa! Back up west to an autumn day son. Ahh, Lyons Rock trains pass  by here even now after being  posted for no more St. Vrain Gravel mining and the end of the cement gathering contract! See the 1885 Crofutt Lyons description in the comments.

A while ago, I had to boogie into place to catch the warning  sign (ignored by the train crew and Western Paving Co  - probably not Charles Darwin) as the train passed. I grabbed the BNSF for a quick snap and add it to old unedits Here is another oldie at the northern edge of the park and tracks at a two block subdivision and small park. I think Golden ponds woukld be suffient park. 

This earlier shot of the neighborhood at the edge of the Golden Rexreation Area and Paek.  and their normal access and retreat. They stained the old gate red to find it in off-hours I suppose. Their back yard is now the entire park and section of the rock train to Lyons. The train runs twice in normal daylight and little bother. 

The earlier Maintenance of Way (MOW) refloated the line between Lyons and Longmont. I bet a lot of original ties were replaced after uphill irrigation ditches (the Longmont Supply ditch was north of the Park) flooded the rail route right into western Longmont and Golden Ponds Park. The branch line seems to be in regular operation, considering that the speed limit between town is 8 MPH.
