Big-eyed Forest Tree frog - a photo on Flickriver

            One of several species found in the tropical rainforests of the world, particularly those of West Africa. They thrive in dense, humid canopies which provide camourflage and ample opportunities for feeding on insects and other small invertebrates. It also provides the ideal environment in which to reproduce. Having big eyes is an obvious advantage, for being nocturnal it improves their night vision, at a time they are their most active, as well as vocal.
