Many people have commented on the similarity in appearance between Arthur Conan Doyle and Kaiser Wilhelm.

There was also a disturbing similarity between the mental health of Dr. George Budd (son of Dr. William Budd and early business partner of Arthur Conan Doyle) and Vincent Wilhelm van Gogh. They both believed someone was trying to poison them!

It is unknown if the blue tiles are "Delft Blue" from Holland.

The first lecture tour of America in 1890's by Arthur Conan Doyle was made possible by sailing across the Atlantic on the German liner called ELBE owned by Lloyd in Hamburg.
