Miniature Macaw - a photo on Flickriver

Miniature Macaw

I had taken this shot for Macro Monday's theme "miniature" but learned later that the theme refers only to miniature items like collectables in a doll house. I'm going to sit this week's theme out since I don't collect miniatures.

Although he is about 12 inches from head to tip of tail, don't let him know he isn't as big as our 37-inch Green Wing Macaw. His big personality makes up for his small size. I should add, he came to us cage bound and afraid of hands. I placed a video snapshot in the first comment box. We have come a long way!
