Canyonlands Shafer Trail 02-24-2018 (102 of 148)

            Took a very interesting Trail just outside of Moab, Utah, that started on SR279 and Potash Road and ended inside of Canyonlands on Grand View Point Road.  We basically headed from East to West on Potash Road, a private but publicly accesible, that passes thru and longside their property for about the first quarter of the ride and is the least scenic but soon breaks out away from the property and is very enjoyable and scenic from their on with several overlooks with views of the Colorado River even passing below Dead Horse Point State Park with a lot closer view of the river.  I was driving a 4WD Chevy Silverado and did scrape a couple of times on some of the roadk scrambles but with no damage since I took it slowwww.  Most exciting part was heading up the steep switchbacks that were covered with snow and proably a little ice.  Being from Fla and not used to driving in these conditions it was a li'l hairy but we made it.  This was one of the highlights of our west trip......
