Lake Gairdner Lines - a photo on Flickriver

            The edge of Lake Gairdner as the water recedes in the 3rd largest salt lake in Australia (160 km long; 48 km wide).  The lake, this section on Mount Ive Station in South Australia's Gawler Ranges, rarely has water in it and is usually a large salt pan.  The water's edge shows a partly dissolved salt crust that will re-form when the temperatures rise again in summer.
