            The Pilgrimage Church of Wies (German: Wieskirche) is an oval rococo church, designed in the late 1740s by brothers J. B. and Dominikus Zimmermann, the latter of whom lived nearby for the last eleven years of his life. It is located in the foothills of the Alps, in the municipality of Steingaden in the Weilheim-Schongau district, Bavaria, Germany.

This is NOT this famous church, but the Wieskapelle (chapel) near Alteglofsheim/Regensburg. It was built 1748 and was located directly close to the famous route connecting Regensburg and Salzburg used to trade salt. 

It contains a so called Third-Class Relic: These are any object that has been in contact with a first- or second-class relic. Most third-class relics are small pieces of cloth.

In the Upper Palatinate, I know at least a further Wieskirche which is located near Moosbach.

Die Wallfahrtskirche zur Wies (deutsch: Wieskirche) ist eine ovale Rokokokirche, die in den späten 1740er Jahren von den Brüdern J. B. und Dominikus Zimmermann entworfen wurde, von denen letzterer die letzten elf Jahre seines Lebens in der Nähe wohnte. Sie befindet sich im Alpenvorland in der Gemeinde Steingaden im Landkreis Weilheim-Schongau, Bayern, Deutschland.

Es handelt sich NICHT um diese berühmte Kirche, sondern um die Wieskapelle bei Alteglofsheim/Regensburg. Sie wurde 1748 erbaut und befand sich direkt an der berühmten Salzhandelsstraße zwischen Regensburg und Salzburg. 

Sie enthält ein so genanntes Relikt dritter Klasse: Dies sind alle Gegenstände, die mit einem Relikt erster oder zweiter Klasse in Berührung gekommen sind. Die meisten Reliquien dritter Klasse sind kleine Stoffstücke

In der Oberpfalz ist mir zumindest eine weitere Wieskirche bekannt, die sich in der Nähe von Moosbach befindet.
