            Broad gauge N466 is shutdown in the dock platform at Albury with a 4-car N Set and attached Z-type car waiting to form the morning up Melbourne service. Meanwhile on the standard gauge, ST21 departs for Melbourne having travelled down from Sydney overnight.

This would be the third last opportunity to conduct the "break of gauge" ritual at Albury in which passengers could transfer from a standard gauge service from Sydney to a broad gauge service to Melbourne as the line would close in two days time for conversion to standard gauge.

A hasty grab shot having alighted from ST21 to run up the platform, tripod banging against my legs to ensure a final shot at recording history.

The final passenger service from Albury to Melbourne would be operated by the Seymour Railway Heritage Centre the following day with the final train to depart Albury on the broad gauge an empty car movement the following night.
