V2 at Don River Railway - a photo on Flickriver

            The - C - V Class shunters were the first diesel locomotives on Tasmanian Government Railway tracks, purchased for shunting operations. Delivered in 1948, the first eight were delivered from Vulcan Foundry, England. A further four were built locally at the TGR workshops in Launceston. Two similar locomotives were also purchased by the Mt Lyell Mining and Railway Company in Queenstown.
