Happy the cook who wields the ladle - a photo on Flickriver

            I've been cooking, regularly and officially, for about 30 years. Somehow, in all that time, I've never had a ladle. Soup in my kitchen is always doled out tediously by the tablespoonful, which turns out not to be the most efficient tool for the job. At the Passover seder, I said something to to guests about this as I was working on serving the matzah ball soup, and the next morning they brought me this substantial and handsome ladle.
