Saint Louis Bible or Moralized Bible (Bible moralisée), 1227–34 (likely commissioned by Blanche of Castille for her son, Saint Louis/king Louis IX, Paris), vellum, 37.5 x 26.2 cm (The Morgan Library & Museum, NYC)

Blanche of Castille was Queen of France until her husband, king Louis VIII died. She then ruled France as regent until her son reached adulthood and again during Louis IX's time away during the 7th Crusade.

This pictorial colophon and the rest of the quire is in New York while almost all of the three volume set remains in the library of Toledo Cathedral where it has been since at least the 15th century.
