This day I walked home a different way and came by these guys. 
It turned out Ed had lived in the same building as someone we knew in common and he updated me about their change in living situation. Good because if I had called and gotten a disconnected number I would have thought they might have died. He gave me the new number.
We all had a very pleasant conversation about how much our neighborhood has changed, getting old and making art.
