Presidio's 229th MI Battalion welcomes new leader

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. -- Lt. Col. Derrick Long (right) assumed command of the 229th Military Intelligence Battalion at the Presidio's Soldier Field, relieving Lt. Col. Frank Smith during a change-of -command ceremony Aug. 1. Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center Commandant Col. David Chapman (center)presided over the ceremony. More than 400 Soldiers from the battalion were in attendance to witness the event and greet their new commander.
