not super scientific lens test (digital)

            SMC Asahi Pentax Takumar 50mm 1.4 lens vs Canon FD 50mm 1.4 lens.  Both shots taken at F2.8. Processing mostly the same but some variation in colour processing and B&W treatment. Hand held and manually focused so variation there too. To me the Takumar came out on top for sharpness, however at lower F stops (F1.4 and F2.0) the Canon is definitely crisper (to me).

PS - the weird square pattern in the window is due to the fly wire in the window

PPS - also I noticed, after posting, that the focal point is a bit different in the two images, the Canon is focused slightly closer than the Takumar, this may give the overall Takumar image a sharper look as the focal point is in a sweeter spot for this subject (the aberrations of manual focus!) Next tests will be better controlled.
