Bottle Lineup

            These were left behind by the bottle hunters at the massive bottle dump (see previous post) that was found on Railway Street back in the summer. Most of the green bottles are quite small and the main person digging referred to them as "generic minis" and they date from around 1915. I managed to snag a couple of them and they measure just about 8 inches tall and only hold about five to six ounces each. Probably hundreds of these bottles were found on the site and given that the Hastings Mill was just over the railway tracks, I'm sure thirsty workers back in the day obviously went through lots of them!
