Mistle Thrush (Turdus viscivorus) - a photo on Flickriver

            This was to be the last shot of the mistle thrush family before they fledged. I took the shot yesterday evening (19th April).

I have been privileged to watch them since they were a few days old, thanks to the gamekeeper who told me about them.
The eggs survived the attacks by jackdaws and then, once they had hatched, had to contend with the crows. 
I went back this morning and 2 had climbed higher into the oak tree and the remaining 2 were stretching their wings.
A parent returned with one last feed at the nest and the third chick left.
I took a final shot of the last chick and it fluffed itself up, gave a final stretch and was gone.
I thanked the game keeper and said I thought it was a miracle that they had all survived. I also noticed that I hadn't seen the crows for several days ??????
