            🇫🇷     C’est un grand héron de couleur grise avec des plumes blanchâtres.( entre 84 et 102 cm, pour une envergure de 155 à 175 cm)
 Le bec est puissant, en forme de poignard, de couleur gris-jaunâtre, plus orangé en période nuptiale. Les pattes sont jaunâtres, ou grisâtres. Le dessus des ailes est gris, avec les rémiges et les couvertures primaires (sus-alaires) noires. Le « coude » de l’aile est blanchâtre. La tête est surmontée d’une calotte noire sur les côtés et blanche au milieu, le front est également blanc. La nuque est noire, avec une longue plume. Les plumes du cou ont un aspect rayé blanc, noir et gris.

🇬🇧    It is a large grey heron with whitish feathers (between 84 and 102 cm, with a wingspan of 155 to 175 cm).
 The beak is powerful, dagger-shaped and yellowish-grey, becoming more orange during the mating season. The legs are yellowish or greyish. The upper surface of the wings is grey, with black wing feathers and primary coverts (supra-alar). The wing "bend" is whitish. The head is topped with a black cap on the sides and white in the middle, and the forehead is also white. The nape of the neck is black, with a long feather. The neck feathers are striped white, black and grey.

🇩🇪    Es ist ein großer Reiher von grauer Farbe mit weißlichen Federn (zwischen 84 und 102 cm bei einer Flügelspannweite von 155 bis 175 cm).
 Der Schnabel ist kräftig, dolchförmig und gelbgrau, in der Paarungszeit orange. Die Füße sind gelblich oder gräulich. Die Flügeloberseite ist grau, die Flügeldecken und die Oberschwanzdecken sind schwarz. Der Flügelansatz ist weißlich. Der Kopf wird von einer Haube gekrönt, die an den Seiten schwarz und in der Mitte weiß ist, die Stirn ist ebenfalls weiß. Der Nacken ist schwarz mit einer langen Feder. Die Halsfedern sind weiß, schwarz und grau gestreift.

 El pico es potente, en forma de daga y de color gris amarillento, que se vuelve más anaranjado durante la época de celo. Las patas son amarillentas o grisáceas. La superficie superior de las alas es gris, con plumas alares y coberteras primarias (supraalares) negras. La "curva" del ala es blanquecina. La cabeza está rematada por un casquete negro a los lados y blanco en el centro, y la frente también es blanca. La nuca es negra, con una pluma larga. Las plumas del cuello son rayadas de blanco, negro y gris.

🇮🇹      È un grande airone grigio con piume biancastre (tra 84 e 102 cm, con un'apertura alare di 155-175 cm).
 Il becco è potente, a forma di pugnale e di colore grigio-giallastro, che diventa più arancione durante la stagione degli amori. Le zampe sono giallastre o grigiastre. La superficie superiore delle ali è grigia, con piume alari e copritrici primarie (sopra-alari) nere. La "curva" delle ali è biancastra. La testa è sormontata da una calotta nera ai lati e bianca al centro; anche la fronte è bianca. La nuca è nera, con una lunga piuma. Le piume del collo sono striate di bianco, nero e grigio.
