Inception and conclusion of an inversion

This week we had an inversion layer over the Silicon Valley, California, where a colder layer of air is trapped below a warmer layer of air. An inversion can linger for a few days with little or no wind, and tends to trap pollution. The particles in the air reflect light, which gave these beautiful layers of red in the sky and San Francisco Bay last night.

I processed a balanced, a paintery, and a photographic HDR photo from three RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
