Arco de Nossa Senhora de Fátima - a photo on Flickriver

Situado na Av. Dr. Guarany, o Arco de Nossa Senhora de Fátima (ou Arco do Triunfo, como é conhecido) é um dos monumentos que mais caracterizam a cidade de Sobral.

Por iniciativa de Dom José, o Arco de Nossa Senhora de Fátima foi construído em 1953, na administração do Prefeito Antônio Frota como marco da visita da imagem peregrina de Nossa Senhora de Fátima a Sobral.

Projetado por Falb Rangel, o Arco de Nossa Senhora de Fátima foi executado por Francisco Frutuoso do Vale, que também foi o autor da imagem de Nossa Senhora que fica sobre o Arco. Ele possui a seguinte inscrição, em latim: "Ave Gratia Plena".

Situated in Dr. Guarany Avenue, the Arch of Our Lady of Fátima (or Arch of the Triumph, as is known) is the monuments that more characterize the city of Sobral.

By initiative of Cardinal José, the Arch of Our Lady of Fátima was built in 1953, in the administration of the Antonio Frota Mayor as landmark of the visit of the pilgrim image of Our Lady of Fátima to Sobral.

Projected by Falb Rangel, the Arch was built by Francisco Frutuoso do Vale, that also was the author of the image of Our Lady that stayed in the top of the Arch. He possessed the following inscription, in Latin: "Ave Gratia Plena".
