67997 Dawn, Toad River, BC - a photo on Flickriver

            It's mid-winter, so naturally the mind turns to road trips. If only we could go where we wanted, when we wanted... Here is a shot from a trip up the Alaska Highway in 1996, a pre-dawn view of Toad River, British Columbia. There's nothing like the feeling of adventure as you hit the road - especially a long, seemingly endless road like this. 5:30 a.m. Heading north.

I made this shot with a 105mm lens, camera on tripod. Scanned from the original Fujichrome Provia 100 slide, July 1996.
