This is Lower Purgatory Falls. Went out on a whim this afternoon in search of a good (but fairly close to home) spot to do some foliage shooting. I was hoping the hour long drive to Purgatory Falls would not end in disappointment.

Although most of the forest surrounding the falls itself was not of the deciduous variety, depending on where I set up, I was indeed treated to some nice tree color as a backdrop.

And, as an added bonus, as I was departing, I looked back once more and saw the sun peeking between the trees, so of course I had to set everything back up for this.
