Near the former Abura-ya pleasure grounds, Nagamine shrine

            For at least a few generations one of the biggest in the 70 Ise-area businesses to entertain monied men with young women was one or two stone's throw from this shrine. Just who was placing prayers and for what purposes will never be known, but the imagination is a fertile place to exercise. Now maybe 150 years after the last drink was poured and shamisen strings were plucked the Nagamine shrine continues to hold its place along the old Pilgrim Road that runs between the Outer Shrine (lefthand direction from here) and the Inner Shrine (to the righthand direction), the Furuichi Sangu Kaido.
