No Cooperation At All - a photo on Flickriver

            If I've learned anything while out trying to catch lightning I've learned that it can be pretty uncooperative!  When you've got your camera set in one direction you're pretty much guaranteed to get strikes in the opposite direction!

Again, the storms stayed just far enough away to keep me from getting wet and getting any really fantastic shots.  There was a big column of rain dumping out and most of the lightning was staying on the far side of it.  Lightning strike app was showing 100s of strikes, just not close enough to me.  Oh well, I imagine the folks down Sahuarita way got a good show.  I do find it interesting that this bolt had a bluish tinge to it, usually they seem to be more of the reddish/pink/purplish variety.

This was shot facing Southwest, the lights in the background are from the  3 prisons (Arizona State, US Penitentiary Tucson, and the Federal Correctional Institution for Women, 26 seconds in BULB mode.
