Bourne to run ... through to 'Wycombe

1Z15, the RCTS “Thames & Cherwell Rail Tour” stands at Bourne End station for a photostop.

This was the last special train to travel over the then through route from High Wycombe to Maidenhead, which closed a few weeks later on 4th May 1970. The route toward High Wycombe can be glimpsed behind the train.

The photographer is standing on the short branch line to Marlow, which, along with the line from Bourne End south to Maidenhead, remains open to this day.
