COPAN STELA A as viewed from a position atop Copán Structure 4 (a small pyramid) on the west side of the Copán Great Plaza in the magnificent Copán Mayan Ruins in Honduras. This is a semiprofile view from the southeast of Copán Stela A with the west edge of the Great Plaza in the background.

Stela A in my view is the most beautiful of the Copán Stelae as the portrait is exquisite, the green stone amazing, and the glyphs and carving are extremely well preserved. Stela A is one of many stone sculptures depicting Waxaklajuun Ub'aah K'awiil, also known as 18 RABBIT, who is holding a Ceremonial Serpent Bar. Stela A was dedicated AD 731. 18 Rabbit was the 13th Ruler of Copán
