A Winter's Drive On White Cemetery Road, Menard County, Illinois

            I took this golden hour photo almost five years ago while on a country drive the day after New Year. While doing some SSD housekeeping the other day, I rediscovered it and decided to reprocess the RAW file.

Menard County, located in central Illinois, is named for Pierre Menard (1766-1844), a fur trader born near Montreal, Canada who became the first lieutenant governor of Illinois. Earlier this year the statue of Menard on the Illinois statehouse grounds was removed, along with the statue of Stephen A. Douglas, as both had been slave holders.
