Lilac-breasted Roller with Frog - a photo on Flickriver

            Sometimes you get a treat.  It was difficult to get Simon to stop for birds.  As a concession to me he would stop, but I could feel his impatience and never stayed as long as I might have.  He’s a big cat and animal guy.  Well, so am I, so I’m not complaining.  While waiting for some lion action I often shot birds to keep myself entertained.  When I took this shot, I didn’t see what the roller was carrying.  Even after I initially sorted the images on my laptop while traveling home, I didn’t see it.  It was just another roller picture I threw it into the “miscellaneous bird” folder I had created.   It’s taken some time for me to get to this folder and low and behold, that sucker was carrying a frog home for dinner!
