And supposing one day you woke up and just wrote one word, could you live with that?

Apparently not.

It’s just a tool, you tool. Like everything else, and not even one that one is wielding oneself, that oneself being a tool too, as are the ‘drivers’ themselves. Disallowing for the omnipotent ‘craftsman’, and allowing for life (that ‘Shavian’ force) to be self-lubricating might be the trick, that not creating hierarchies. Okay, a tall order, I know.

I like that circle asking where does the art start, followed by, of course, where does the art end? But more to the point, does it do either, or does it need to? I don’t think it does. I also love doing it in words and images, and this is an attempt to combine both, to blend the daily postings on Flickr and these diary inputs. There needs to be a marrying, well for me at least. I am thinking of the same subject in both places. Here, I will link because I can. We live in that miraculous age:

The notion of a diary is that writing to oneself, but I really want to communicate, and see that this often goes amiss. This might be caused by an over-arching archness, Archibald. I am aware of this in myself, and perhaps have to find a way to be ‘kinder’, somehow. The striving to communicate would seem to be entwined/intertwined with the universal longing for recognition, that desire to be seen. Seen as what, one might ask. It puts me in mind of an exchange I had with an 18-year-old female relative by marriage. We were sharing the back of a car on a trip from Almelo in the west of the country on the way back home to Amsterdam.

We talked about her school experience, and that coming to an end, and what she saw herself doing next. She told me that she had decided to be “an influencer”.

The question reverberates “what influence do you want to have?”, that what do you want to communicate.

In the long run, and what’s left of it, the only person I should be asking that question of is myself, he guffawed, as he added to his exhibitionist diary.

Begin again, indeed.
