Finding Fall (explored October 20, 2023)

            I hate horses in fantasy films.  Seriously, stay with me here.  If there are societies who have magic powers, why would they not create something more sophisticated.  Why?  Well, story tellers are lazy.  They take advantage of any pre-baked emotional tools they can find.  Same reason every Disney movie has orphans as heroes  Without even trying the audience has a built in sympathy for the character just because they are an orphan.  With horses in fantasy films, there is a romance that comes with horses that lets the author evoke a certain feel, even if it makes no sense at all that there would be horses used for transportation in a place where you use rings to give power.  Invent a motorcycle then!  Horses are so inefficient.

Now, what does this have to do with photography?  I cheat too.  I have no love of covered bridges, none at all.  But This year I wanted to try to use them in Fall images because they automatically evoke a feeling of nostalgia, one that blends well with the feeling I want you to feel when you see my Fall image.  I hope that I can manipulate you into feeling all scarf-coffee-in-your-hand-crisp-air-feeling when you see this, partially because of the bridge.  Did it work?
