Last Gasp of the Summer Milky Way - a photo on Flickriver

            11.10.20 - My dad and I drove out to where Calif. Route 62 meets Rice Road so that I could take photos the last parts of the southern (as visible from 33N) Milky Way could be seen the 45 mins to hour after dark.  It was a joy to see the stars and nebula of Sagittarius, I am sorry to have missed Scorpius in its full glory this year.

Jupiter is on the top left edge of the frame.

For life in the times of Covid, there were a surprising amount of aircraft bitbopping by. Yellow sky glow compliments of Indio and Palm Springs.
