Spontaneous at Sunset - a photo on Flickriver

            Hello friends,

Checking in after a long absence. We were just getting back home when this glorious sunset unfolded right in front of my eyes. My littlest one Avi was the victim this time of an impromptu shot. He was dressed in his snuggly bear outfit and I very quickly plopped him right on the hood of my husband's truck for this shot. His look of absolute seriousness (which completely belies his happy nature btw) is one of question. Why are you doing this Mom?! Shhhh little one. You will learn. You will learn. Lol.

I've had many changes happen this past few months. The biggest one however was when I began to experience intense pain and swelling in both my hands. At first I brushed it off and thought I must need a small break from my phone and editing. I used my phone very often for my business and in networking and of course I used them often at the computer for various business needs and editing. I began to back off but the pain didn't subside. Instead for several weeks it got worse and worse til I was forced to discontinue most activities using those particular muscles. It is thought to be carpel tunnel. It HAS lessened in pain with the long break which has provided me with some relief but I still experience pain that continues for several days if I "overuse". Still trying to figure out what is the magical balance is as I pay greatly when I step over that magic line...
For awhile this was a great struggle for me. Slowly I have began to find ways to simplify and still find time to enjoy my photography with less time at the computer or phone. I ended up "shut-in down" business on for now and have pretty much disengaged from all social media for the time being. Although I have missed my online community DEEPLY, the break from social media has benefit me in many ways... I have picked up other hobbies that I dropped along the way.... more reading, re-discovered my love for cooking and of course much to the delight of my children, much more time with them. It's only when we step away that we realize how much time is spent in an invisible world that often excludes those we love the most.

 I recently have began to check in for a few minutes at a time once or twice during the week. Flickr is a quiet way to check in and the easiest one for me at present.... Facebook and Instagram unfortunately require much more social maintenance and I have pretty much disappeared as I can no longer keep up. 

Thank you for all of my faithful friends who have stuck around even when I have been gone for so long. While not able to comment like I used to I still see and admire many of the beautiful pictures your posting. Sometimes I will have my children sit with me and hold the phone or tablet and we look at beautiful pictures together. I'm not sure what the future holds but I continue to be inspired by the amazing talent and work here. Thank you for taking the time to read my lengthy post!! I love and appreciate you!
