Welcome To Colorful Colorado - a photo on Flickriver

            Thats what the sign on the side of the road says, when you first enter the state. It always seems kind of ironic, because, it seems like, no matter what direction you enter from, when you first enter the state, it's a dry, brown, ugly desert. It always seems like kind of a contradiction when you see the sign. Once you get into the state a ways, and up into the mountains... THEN, it's colorful, and beautiful... REALLY beautiful.

This is just south of the town of Ouray... However the hell you pronounce that. I've been here for two weeks, and I keep hearing about how beautiful Ouray is. I finally made it up there yesterday. It really is beautiful. This was dusk, looking north towards Ouray's big mountains.
