Apparent W. P. Hanna Signature pasted on back of this photo. It was written in pencil on similar, if not the same, backing/matting as what this photo is mounted on, then cut to nearly the signature size and pasted on the back matting of this photograph.
If you are interested, we have some 8x12 Yosemite Prints mounted on 12x16 backing which were by photographer Carleton E Watkins for sale which I will describe below. They are somewhat spotted by age and/or water (they made it through Hurricane Andrew) and a bit faded.

The pictures came with other photographs of about postcard size or a little large by W.P. Hanna taken in Ceylon in 1888-1889 which I'll describe below. Both sets of photographs were sold to my father's grandfather with a camera by W. Watson & Sons, manufacturers of Photographic Apparatus, 313 High Holborn; est 1837; London, W.C.; Factories 7 & 8 Dyers Bdgs E.C. Though highly unlikely, if not impossible, the sellers told his grandfather that all the prints (from both photographers) were taken with that camera.
